Welcome to Floral Math Works!

I’m Pete — the creator of Floral Math Works — and I’d like to share the story behind how it all began.

It all started right at our kitchen table. My wife and I had decided to launch her home-based floral design studio during the pandemic when I had just retired after more than 30 years as an engineer in the automotive industry. She had all the creative and business savvy to make a go of it — she had experience in administration, event planning, sales, floral design and as a Master Gardener — but determining the right floral budget and pricing her floral arrangements and events was a new challenge.

I worked with my wife to help find an efficient, straightforward and reliable way for her to price each floral design and each event. From the beginning, she used the industry-standard formulas, along with cheat sheets and a calculator. (hear her testimonial located on the Home page)

That process eventually grew into spreadsheets — which made perfect sense to an engineer, but not so much for a busy florist. The spreadsheets were efficient and reliable but not always so straightforward. So, what started as a collection of spreadsheet formulas soon evolved into Floral Math Works — a set of simple and straightforward online software Tools built from real experience inside a home-studio floral design business.

Every beautiful arrangement and event begins with great design — and smart pricing. Floral Math Works gave her all the essential Tools to manage the money side of her floral designs, weddings, and events.

In the navigation scroll menu, you’ll find four Tools: two for pricing arrangements, one for recording recipes and costs, and one for pricing entire events — large or small.

Floral Math Works provides a set of Tools that are low-cost, and they run right in your web browser. These Tools are designed to solve all your flower and financial calculations to help sustain your profitability.
